Our goal is to make this site a valuable tool and resource for all believers in business across the country. As you know most of the affinity groups currently offered are geographical. This week however we have started new groups, which were suggested by fellow members, designed to engage the entire community in fellowship and networking .

The groups are:

Biz Books Reading Club
Business Brainstormers
Prayer Group
Twitter Tweeters and Wannabees (not recent but national in nature)

I am seeking advice and ideas on how to bring more value to all of our members via this online community. Also how to grow the community in all states. What are your ideas for new groups, growth etc...

Mark, being that I am from out of state, I truly appreciate the new groups. I know it is going to help me to get to know the members better and feel more connected. I am very excited to see that Brainstormers already has 16 members and I am looking forward to brainstorming on different business topics with everyone.

One idea you may consider is a "MONTHY ON-LINE CHAT NETWORKING MEETING". Ning has a chat feature and this would allow members both local and across the globe to connect, talk and get to know each other.

Thanks again and many blessings, Shell
Re Monthly On Line Chat
Do you have a white paper on suggested formats, topics etc...
I have a great list of business books which was compiled for a reading club I head up. Happy to share and lead if looking for someone. Anne
Our new group, Biz Books Reading Club would be a great place for this. For each group we are looking for a member to be the Administrator of the group. The Administrator is more of a group leader to execute the intended purpose of the group, can control some of the content and we also look to them to monitor quality and keep the group fresh.

With your experience in a reading club, you may want to consider being the Admin. Let me know.
Mark: happy to take that role.
Join the Biz Books Reading Club and then I can make you the Administrator and send you info on what you can do.
Anne, you still need to join the Biz Books Group before I can set the system to allow you to manage it. Then we can discuss the next steps.
It seems to me, that the biggest advantage to networking is the shared expertice of the group members, as well as the potential for contacts and refferals within the group. I have found over the years that there is nothing more valuable in business than a third party referral. If the group could expand the information that we all have about each others backgrounds and areas of experience then we could help one another better. For example, one person may be experienced in wholesaling, another retailing, another with legal expertice or putting together marketing plans, etc. Also, I am from North Carolina and I want to promote my products in other parts of the country, so geographical locations are important to me. The more we were to communicate, the more helpful this would become.
It is a challenge everywhere. Poeple for the most part don't realize that when ever you help some one else succeed, you will always inevitably help yourself! Success in business, just as in sports breads success. And as Christians, we have a tremendous network of believers who need each others help. We just need to reach out more and connect and help one another, we only do that by sharing what we know.
