I find an interesting progression in this chapter. Here is told the account of the conflict between the prophet of God, Elijah, and the prophets of Baal and Ashterah. The progression I noticed is in the reactions of the people as they watch what is going on. Elijah addresses the people at the beginning of the episode and there is no response from the people.
