(excerpts from my new Happily Ever After Newsletter)
What is it that separates successful people who are thriving on life, from those who live with boredom and discontent? And how can we make our life all that we really want it to be? Read on about adventure, opportunity and purpose. The secret of success can be found by tapping into the trio.
About Adventure
Lifestyle success for many of us is greatly influenced by our ability to find personal inspiration and to regularly add healthy doses of adventure to our day-to-day living. For some, travel to a far-away place or participating in physically bold activities like sky diving might trigger the “rush of adventure” that we are looking for.
However, for some of us, adventure might be just a little less life threatening and easier to find. In fact, I suggest the need for adventure can be fulfilled quite nicely by untapping our creative talents for painting, writing, or music, by learning a new language, joining a dance/ exercise class, or becoming a member of a group focused on meeting new people. Whatever the focus might be, we all need a good dose of adventure in our lives. Add adventure and guard against boredom. Add adventure, and challenge your own moments of discontent.
About Opportunity
Who knew that the world was so full of opportunity? It knocks on our door regularly offering us new experiences, new meaning and personal fulfillment. As our life transitions quite naturally from parenting little children to the empty-nest syndrome of folks whose kids are college bound and independent, to the possibility of retirement and not needing to get up and go to work each day, life presents itself in a new way. All we need to do is listen and answer the knock of opportunity. What is it that will make this stage of your life, the best it can be?
About Purpose
The purpose is the reason. The purpose is the meaning. We find purpose in our lives when we find ways to use our own talents to make the world a better place…. sometimes one grandchild at a time, sometimes one neighbor at a time, sometimes one mission at a time.
