Thanks to a new friend request, I was inspired today to bring the Network up to date on the recent happenings with Sew Many Paws and our family. In February 2009, I was downsized from a job after 28 years service. I felt calmness because I knew that God had a plan for me. My newfound freedom would allow me the time to focus on growing my embroidery business. Then in March 2009, our dog Nosey lost her 26 month long battle with cancer. At that point, I realized that instead of growing my business, God needed me home to have some free time to cherish the memories in my dog's final weeks on earth and then to help my husband deal with the loss of his constant companion.
Over the next few months, we moved out into the country and have been able to deal with other family health issues that came up. Looking back now I see that God knew what my future held and while I could have looked at my loss of a job as a tragic event, instead I have been able to thank God every day for the freedom that I have had that allowed me the opportunity to do things I could not have done had I been working a 40 hr/wk job.
These past couple of weeks now that barns are built, boxes unpacked and life has started to settle down into a somewhat normal routine, I have been able to spend more time practicing on new embroider designs, fabrics and techniques. The wonderful thing about practicing is that it can truly be fun if you are doing something that you love. When you work as if you are working for the Lord, then your practice time brings a new purpose to your endeavors. Suddenly practicing is something to look forward to rather than just a chore.
So whatever life throws at you, remember to put your faith in God. He will keep you in His care.
