Thoughts on Another Year

October is my birth month and I have always considered it the beginning of my physical year. For as long as I can remember, I get very contemplative in October. I think God has something to do with this thoughtfulness, and so I try to go with it when it happens.

Last year God revealed to me a grand plan that he was about to put into play in my life. (I love the idea of a "grand plan.") His plan is full of all kinds of new and exciting things that, as he brings them to pass, will affect the lives of lots and lots of people. The only weak link in his plan is me! I have to learn to be still and listen to the Lord rather than trying to plan it all out for him.

It has taken me a whole year to figure that "be still and listen" part. Now its October again and I think that I am ready to stop doing and start praying, to start listening, and to start following God's lead. (After all it is his battle not mine.)

I am telling you, my Christian business friends, this because I need your prayers. Prayers that I will learn to live in peace and quietness while God does his work in and through me. I am much like Peter and I can easily get myself in trouble just like he did. I want to be converted to a life where God's will shines above all other lights and my reflection of that light brings people to an understanding of all that God is and wants in this world.
