This week I was driving down to North Carolina. As I crossed clinch mountain I could look down and see vast valleys on both sides of me, on the left were homes scattered throughout the valley floor for miles and miles, on my right was a lake that ran in front of, behind and in between smaller mountains that made it look like it just went on forever.
Now this particular mountain is high enough that it can be snowing heavy at the foot of it, then as you climb the hill the snow will stop, then you look down and realize that you have climbed above the snowfall,
Talk about a God’s eye view.
I look upon scenes like this weekly, I start to think about this planet that God has made, I begin to mull over the global warming or climate change or whatever the name of it has been changed to this week, and I think, “you know, this is something made of the finger of God, it is making it’s own adjustments and because we don’t really understand it, some have decided to go crazy about it and try to control the planet, this belongs to God, it was made of his hands, it has been doing, is doing and will be doing exactly what He intended it to do until He tells it to stop, then when He does tell it to stop, there will be absolutely nothing that anybody down here is going to be able to do anything about it. Maybe we should just use it and enjoy it the way God intended.
Now, having said all that;
Most times we take for granted this earth and forget that everything was placed here by an Almighty God.
As we struggle to straighten out the messes that we actually did make, like our economy, our relationships with one another, trying to figure out who has the right religion and what we can do to change the people we don’t like to make them more like what we think they should be like, we should take time to look at the beauty of what God has created for us. We should slow down enough to take a breath and just think about how this earth was supposed to work in the first place, take time to think about how WE were supposed to work in the first place, we were placed here to worship and honor God, we should be honoring Him in our work places, and with our work practices, but then, that’s whole other blog now isn’t it?
