For-profit businessowners have asked: "Can I get grant money for my business?" My response is 'No'.

However, there are instances when a for-profit organization can partner with a non-profit in an effort to collectively resolve a single problem within the community. In this particular case, the for-profit can indirectly receive some of the grant funds (i.e., the non-profit outsources a project to the for-profit on a contractual agreement).
